We want to start off by saying that our U15 boys did us extremely proud! We finished 2nd place in our boys category, only 2 match points off the winners.

Athlete of the match is awarded to Miles Kenny for winning the B string 80MH in a PB, 3rd in the A string HJ with another PB and then stepping up last minute to race (and win!) the 200m B string. He was also part of our star relay team, that finished 2nd.

The first event of the day was the hammer throw, in which Alex Jackson put in another consistent performance to finish 2nd. Next up was the long jump, where LJ jumped amazingly to win the A string in a PB of 6.03m. Matthew Marven won the B string, which helped to set us off to a fantastic start for the day.

Arya Arisa-Surrey stormed to a new club record finishing 2nd in the 80M hurdles, whilst as mentioned above, Miles Kenny convincingly won his B string in a new PB too. Next up was the 800m, where Micheal Joyce put in a great effort to finish 4th in the A string with a new PB. Eliot Kerr, also with his hard work rewarded with a PB, finished 3rd in the B string. We had two wins in the discus with Gabe Lamb A string and Alex Jackson B string, also with a new PB.

Alex Mancey finished 4th in the A string 100m, running just 0.1 off his PB, whilst LJ put in another winning performance in the 100m B string. Meanwhile in the javelin, Roraigh Browne and Ed Foy finished 2nd in both A and B strings respectively, putting in great performances and winning valuable points for the team. Back on the track, Matthew Marven finished 4th in an extremely competitive 300m A string, and Harry Bridge set a new PB in the B string, inching ever closer to breaking the sub 40s barrier! After his 300m, Matthew may as well have continued running straight over to the high jump bed, filling in for a late injury. He did not disappoint, finishing 2nd in the B string, whilst Miles placed 3rd in the A.

Tom Gaunce put in a stellar run in the 1500m, controlling the race from start to finish to come away with the win. Jamie Lilley finished 2nd in the B string in a fantastic run. In the shot, Gabe finished 3rd in the A string with a new PB, whilst Josh Lee placed 3rd in the B string after a challenging year of injuries. Miles Kenny stepped in to fill a last minute gap due to an injury in the 200m B string, in which he did not disappoint, coming away with the win. During a great run, unfortunately Alex Mancey pulled up with a hamstring injury in the last few metres of his 200m, which was a great shame. Even though he was obviously in terrible pain, he admirably went on to finish the race. We wish him well in his recovery! With Alex Mancey missing due to injury, we made a last minute substitution to our 4×100 relay team in order for us to be able to compete. We are grateful to Alex Jackson for starting off the relay team, running an extremely respectable leg for a thrower! Michael Joyce took 2nd leg, handing over to Miles Kenny followed by LJ, finishing a fantastic 2nd place, all things considered.

Special mention to Ed Foy for stepping up to the Pole Vault and not only competing in a highly technical event he doesn’t train for, but finishing a fantastic 2nd! Ed proved himself to be a fantastic team player, which we thank him for.

We would like to thank the boys for a great season, and send a big WELL DONE to everyone who has competed for D&T this year.

Katy & Matt
