We’re a day late, in posting our support but it’s too important to let it pass by…. yesterday was World Mental Health Day. This year’s theme is suicide prevention and a poster is attached. Athletics can play a crucial role in helping to build mental as well as physical fitness.

As coaches, club members and athletes we should be vigilant, understanding and supportive. In an ideal world there would be no difference between discussing hamstring pain and mental pain, but one still has more stigma attached.

Also don’t forget it can happen to anyone, at any level, at any time as Kelly Holmes (http://bit.ly/2OEfyuj), Tom Bosworth (http://bit.ly/319otq2), and many others can attest.

We are stronger together!!
